Wednesday 26th February, Sophie Tsoulos, @theatrediaries.adl If you’re looking for the vibes, I can confirm that you can find them in Gluttony, at The Maywirth tent, at 8pm! The Cast band, Chloe Castledine and Impact Entertainment have returned to the Fringe with their award winning show ‘So Fresh: Hits of the 2000s.’ Best enjoyed with your besties, it is a non-stop Y2K concert that delivers all the hits from your iconic So Fresh CD collection. A sense of joyous nostalgia is ignited from the moment it begins, and instantly, you will find your fellow audience members singing and grooving along!  The band is absolutely rocking, firing up in several solo moments throughout the show. The dancers just ooze professionalism, clearly having the time of their lives. Chloe and Josh Angeles tag team throughout the genres of the 2000s at wicked pace. They come to gether to revive some of the era’s iconic duos - such as Beyonce & Jay Z, and re-create the monumental music videos that ...

INFAMOUS → Adelaide Fringe

Image
Friday 21st February, Sophie Tsoulos, Theatre Diaries Adelaide Held in it's own grandeur tent in Ellis Park, Infamous returns to Adelaide Fringe with a world class variety circus show. With a cast of over 15 performers, the audience was treated to heart-pounding, jaw-dropping circus of world class calibre. Setting the tone for the night, was their anxiety inducing double wheel of death. Just when you thought the performers couldn't increase the complexity of their stunts, they pushed the boundaries of physics and human motion, without fear of the risks. It was a clever way to grab the intrigue and attention of the audience, as they continued through a 2-hour circus extravaganza of dance, burlesque, tightrope, juggling, trapeze, arial and slapstick comedy. There was no stone left unturned, each performer executed stunt after stunt with strength and control - clearly all masters of their crafts. Amongst the gasps of awe were cackles of laugher at the extremely cheeky crowd work...

Wednesday 19th February, Sophie Tsoulos @theatrediaries.adl You could see Hedwig and the Angry Inch for the music alone, for Sean Miley Moore alone, or just for a visit to the Queens Theatre - but combined this show is an extra special theatre experience that Adelaide gets to have first!  I honestly had no idea what to expect heading in to see Hedwig, but now I understand why it has earned its rightful place in the musical theatre canon. Part rock concert, part confession, Hedwig and the Angry Inch follows Hedwig, an immigrant from East Berlin, and her band, the Angry Inch, on their turbulent USA tour. Her story though, explores one’s constant questioning of identity, and how relationships shape us for better or worse.  In true Queens theatre fashion, the show begins from the road outside. Setting the scene were the “German” and “American” ushers giving us concert wristbands for our seats, before entering the site of a dingy, middle-American music venue.  Sean Mile...
